Do You Need A STAYcation?

Happy Wednesday Sweet Friends.

I LOVE vacations but something I love a lot too is having a staycation.

Now Mamas, before you roll your eyes and dwell on how you can’t have a staycation because you’re mommy-ing 24/7, just stay with me. You may need to make this happen more than anyone. 😉

Schedule a time where your hubby, the grandparents, a family or friend can watch your little ones for you OR make time when your kids go to bed for YOUR ALONE TIME.

A staycation doesn’t need to be an entire day or a whole weekend. Make it a few hours but the point is that you’re getting away, and doing something spoil-ish just for you.

This was a pic I took some Saturdays ago when my mother-in-law had my girls and I took 2 hours for myself. I ordered in Dominos and I watched Netflix. I went over my calendar and also journaled a little bit. It was so nice.

If you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, hurt even…go on a mini-staycation.

Get in your bed, get some snacks (healthy or junk), and just turn off your life for a second. Watch a movie, write in your journal, read. It’ll be so nice and you’ll feel so much better afterwards.

Here’s some great movies to watch for a staycation:

  • You’ve Got Mail
  • Ever After
  • Sense & Sensibility
  • Lord Of The Rings (can’t help it, lol)
  • Bridget Jones Diary
  • Runaway Bride
  • My Best Friend’s Wedding
  • Pride & Prejudice
  • Never Been Kissed
  • Legally Blonde
  • Sleepless In Seatlle
  • The Princess Bride
  • Gone With The Wind
  • Any Cary Grant Movie
  • Julie & Julia
  • The Devil Wears Prada

Let me know if you take some time for yourself, shoot a photo, share it on social media (encouraging your friends to take some time for themselves too) and I’d love for you to tag me in it.

Happy staying in,

I can always use a staycation! Great advice! I can’t tell you the last time I did anything at home by myself. I think some Taco Bell and Pride & Prejudice along time needs to be penciled in.

Def need alone time and this is a great little tip to get that time needed. PS – love your shoes 🙂

Yes! I love a good staycation. I appreciate that you point out that it doesn’t even have to be for the full day! Sometimes it’s just good to unplug and be for a few hours. It can really make a huge difference!

A mom staycation is exactly what I need to make time for! I’m always filling my time with some task and I would love to take time to cuddle up and indulge in one of these movies!

I could use a mom staycation. One where I actually relax instead of inding something to do
