Love Those Lips

It’s National Lipstick Day!!!

Every day is lipstick day for me. I love it. I became one of those women, about four years ago, who didn’t feel complete without my lipstick on.

A lot of women are nervous about trying lipsticks. They think it looks weird or too done up the first times you wear it. But I promise no one thinks you look strange or like a clown. Lipstick enhances your already beautiful features. The right color on your lips can brighten your eyes, take your outfit to the next level, and give you an extra sparkle!

So here’s a few quick tips from me to you on how to love those lips!

Purchase a lip exfoliator.

You want to exfoliate your lips to remove dry and chapped skin. My favorite is Mary Kay’s  SATIN LIPS SET.

Experiment with brands and feels.

Now you’re going to have to experiment with what kinds of lipsticks work best for you. Matte Lipsticks are going to be more dry feeling and a satin is somewhere in the middle of a matte and a cream lipstick. You’ll need to try different ones out to know what you like the best.

Purchase your basic colors.

I have a lot of lip products but the colors to always have handy are red, pink, nude, and a brown. Once you have your basics down, in the shades you like, you can add to those specific families and use the different shades depending on your outfit for the day. There are so many kinds of reds and pinks…have fun with them.

Now if you’re adventurous, you can try other bold colors like purple. I love Katy Perry’s purple lipstick.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money.

My favorite brands of lipsticks come from Wal-Mart or Target. I really like Sephora but I have found that Burts Bees Lipsticks are some of my FAVORITE. They’re soft and will last for hours. The colors are very pretty and they’re around $7 I think.

Lipstick is the most valuable weapon in a woman’s make-up kit. It has the power to transform the appearance and mood of the person wearing it, and, at the same time, arouses the admiration of everybody else. ~ Monica Bellucci

I hope you decide to try out lipstick if you never really have or maybe you’re a lipstick lover, try some new shades out.

Remember that true beauty begins in the heart. 😉 xoxo.

I am definitely a lip gloss girl! I just don’t seem to be drawn toward lip stick. I might try your tips, thanks for sharing.
